UPCOMING EVENTS
We have a few events that we're discussing in our meetings right now:
- Rock 'n' Run This would be much like the runs put on by other cancer foundations but with our own unique Kayla K. style, of course.
- Guitar Hero Competition In creating GBM awareness we want to reach as many people as possible and what better way to do that than with a Guitar Hero competition?
We would like to reach as many different audiences as we can so we're always tossing around ideas for new, creative ways to raise money and spread GBM awareness. If you have any ideas or would like to help out with any fundraisers, please contact us.
Past Events
On August 11, 2007 we held a benefit concert and market similar to G4K06 but on a slightly smaller scale. Thanks to all the people that came out and donated their time and supported our cuase we raised over $1000 - a great start.

Muffin Sales - UNR Campus
During the Spring Semester of 2007, KGBMF sold muffins to UNR students and professors. This helped us raise enough money to file the necessary paperwork to get the foundation accredited. Special thanks to My Favorite Muffin and the UNR Gerontology Club.
Acoustic Show - Se7en Tea House
On June 6 a show was held to raise awareness of the Kayla GBM Foundation and to raise money for the much larger August 11th show. Four bands played while Se7en Tea House donated the venue and all door proceeds. Special thanks to Promises Promises, Eric Foreman, Jazbeen & Neemai, The Stops and Se7en Tea House.
Gala For Kayla 2006 (G4K06)
This is the concert that started it all. October 26, 2006 was the date of the very first Gala For Kayla in which tons of people rallied together to raise money for Kayla Nebeker. Kayla did not have health insurance at the time of her GBM diagnosis so this benefit concert was put on to help her pay for her increasing medical expenses. The concert featured 7 bands, a raffle, a silent auction, tons of baked goods and lots of handmade art and clothing by local artists. The event was a big success and helped to earn over $5,000 for Kayla's medical bills. Special thanks to all the bands that played and everyone who donated their time and money into making G4K06 the success it was.
